A kit lens of the heyday. An excellent lens when it comes to AF speed and image quality, but not that bright. The mechanical construction is absolutely OK considering the typical low price level of these lenses.

A really wide zoom (like REALLY!) even on a DX-body, which it's made for. Rectilinear in spite of its very wide angle of view and definitely a lens I'm going to love.

The so called beer can lens from Minolta, a really excellent midrange zoom with a stunning optical quality and a very good mechanical ditto

My first pro grade walkaround zoom is from Sigma and a great lens on the Minolta AF bodies. It requires an in-body AF motor and is a bit crude on the mechanical side, but has great optical qualities and is bright.

The workhorse! A bright, sharp, sturdy standard zoom that simply does the job and gets the picture. Not cheap and not lightweight or small, but definitely a must have for the serious DX body owner.

My first real wideangle for the DX bodies and a real lens love. I have shot close to 15,000 frames with this lens to date, and it's now so battered up that it's in dire need of a replacement Scarred, worn and scratched on the ouside, hood lost to the abyss of the fishing water. But the glass is clean and the lens still performs very well optically.

A fantastic telephoto zoom, probably only outdone by its successor, the VR II model
