A fantastic telephoto zoom, probably only outdone by its successor, the VR II model
The 70-200mm f/2.8 is simply a must-have lens. It's expensive, large and heavy, but a real performer and a part of the classic Trinity - a wide zoom, a standard zoom and a telezoom.
