Macro

Going scary close.

Sigma 105mm macro

A short telephoto macro from Sigma of older make. Not impressing and a little clunky, but built like a tank and bright too.

Nikon 6mm macro

This vintage of Nikon macros is the creme og the old scholl AF lenses and can be found used for little money. I have always wanted one and found one on MBP, which I bought for about 200 Euros.

Nikon 105mm macro

A hunk of a lens, but quality wall to wall. Sharp, sturdy, bright. What's not to like?

A jewelry photo project

I was commissioned to shoot a continuing series of images of jewelry for a web site. Here’s what I did.

Minolta Ringflash

My first ever ringflash, and a dedicated one built to do macro work. It did the job and was fine, but not really large or poweful enough for anything but closeup work.

Sigma 90mm f/2.8 macro

My first macro lens for the Nikon bodies, but I knew it from my Minolta time where I had the exact same model.

Nikon 40mm f/2.8 macro

A great little macro lens, cheap and sharp, but with a little too close working distance for my taste.
