I am a semi-professional photographer in the sense that
I get paid to take pictures, but not enough to make a living. I pay my bills by being a web-consultant, specializing in Content Management Systems. Semi indicates that I don't live off my photography, but that I charge money for my pictures. The mainstem of my income comes from giving advice on building web sites. This I do for medium and large companies and organisations.
My name is Martin Joergensen. I'm a Dane living in Copenhagen, Denmark.
I mainly shoot outdoors and most of my paid photography is of fishing, and fly fishing in particular. I write outdoors articles and take pictures for them. And I get paid for that. I'm an avid fly fisherman myself and fish as often as I can — home and abroad. This site is not a fishing photography site, but is does display a few fishing pictures.
But I take pictures of a lot of other things too, so the non-fishing audience does not have anything to fear. Fly anglers can look on
The Global FlyFisher — another site of mine — to see more about fishing.
From the start of 2008 and a year forward I did a podcast for the
Nikonians community, producing "
On Location with Martin Joergensen". These podcasts consisted of a weekly mp3-file in the 15-45 minute range, from one of my shoots accompanied by a commented slideshow. I stopped doing these podcasts in the beginning of 2009.
