Zoom

An impressing lens in spite of being fairly dark and variable aperture. I performs really well if you can live with f/3.5 and downwards. The stabilization compensates a lot, and the sharpness is impressing. A surprisingly versatile lens.

This came with my second D5100 bought used. Another kit lens, impressing enough, but probably not one I'll use much.

I got this lens together with my D40 when I bought a used D40 kit. For some reason I parted with it again - sold it or gave it away - which I kinda regret today where I sometimes miss having a simple, not-so-bright kit lens to play with and compare with. I shot less than 350 images with it, so I didn't really use it much.

I borrowed this excellent kit lens from a friend to use on my first Nikon SLR body - the D200 - until I could get my own first lens, the 18-200mm. When I got my own lens I returned this to my friend, but I managed to shoot almost 2000 shote with it while I had it.

My first own lens for the Nikon system, and an amazing lens in all ways except for brightness. I shot quite few images with it (more than 8,000 actually) before selling it after two years, realizing that I wanted brighter and more pro style glass.

A highly praised lens, which I wanted from the day the price was announced. At 800.- USD it's very reasonably priced considering how bright it is, how well constructed it is and how sharp it is. The lens is on par with the best primes, and will most likely replace a handful of my prime and standard zoom lenses.

A nice windangle zoom that could satisfy my longing for some perspective. It was quite wide even on the crop factor Minolta 7D

I forgot where I got this lens, but I think I found it in a box with mixed used gear outside a local photo dealer. It's a typical third party standard zoom: not that bright and not that well built, but with an acceptable image quality.
