Nikon D40

I bought this little gem used in Germany for very little money. I was traveling and wanted a backup body for my D200, and this gave me that as well as a smaller and lighter alternative to the pro body. The D40 cannot compete with today's SLRs - not even the most basic entry level bodies - but at the time it did a really good job, and I have sold and used many images from this humble 6 megapixel camera, which I still enjoy handling and shooting. I have shot 17,500 frames with it, and since it was used it has clocked even more.

It was delivered as the original kit with the 18-55mm kit lens, which I sold soon after I got it.
